OFFICIALS AND  COMMITTEE 2005.


Rules:

1.      NAME

       THE LEAGUE SHALL BE KNOWN AS “THE ORMSKIRK & DISTRICT BOWLING LEAGUE”.

               

2.     MANAGEMENT

a.   THE LEAGUE SHALL BE MANAGED BY A COMMITTEE CONSISTING OF:-

      PRESIDENT

      CHAIRMAN

      VICE CHAIRMAN

      SECRETARY

      TREASURER

      PLUS 6 OTHER MEMBERS.

      WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PRESIDENT, COMMITTEE MEMBERS WILL BE ELECTED OR          

      RE-ELECTED AT THE A.G.M.

      THE LEAGUE COMMITTEE WILL MANAGE THE RUNNING OF THE LEAGUE AND ALL  

      COMPETITIONS

3.             REGISTRATION

a.   THE FEE FOR EACH LEAGUE TEAM SHALL BE AGREED AT THE A.G.M.

b.   TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE PAID ON THE DATE SPECIFIED AT THE AGM           

c.   TEAMS FAILING TO REGISTER AT THE DATE SET, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START THE

d.   TEAMS MAY REGISTER ANY NUMBER OF PLAYERS.

e.   PLAYERS CAN ONLY REGISTER AND PLAY FOR ONE TEAM IN A SEASON.

f.    A PLAYER TRANSFERRING CAN DO SO ONLY IF AGREED BY THE COMMITTEE

g.   A PLAYER CANNOT REGISTER AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF JUNE.

h.   RESIDENTS NEW TO THE AREA MAY REGISTER AT ANY TIME WITH THE AGREEMENT OF THE 

      COMMITTEE.

i.   ALL PLAYERS HAVE TO BE MEMBERS OF THE BRITISH CROWN GREEN BOWLS ASSOCIATION.

4.             LEAGUE MATCHES

a.   LEAGUE GAMES WILL BE 21- UP, BY TEAMS OF TEN PLAYERS, THE VISITORS HAVING THE FIRST 

      JACK.

b.   LEAGUE MATCHES WILL TAKE PLACE ON A TUESDAY EVENING AND  START NOT LATER THAN 7pm, WHEN FOUR BLOCKS WILL BE ON THE    

     GREEN, PLAY WILL THEN BE CONTINUOUS UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATCH

c.   MATCHES DURING APRIL, AUGUST & SEPTEMBER WILL START AT 6.30pm.

      CLUBS WITH REASONABLE FLOODLIGHTING ( INDICATED ON FIXTURE CARD) MAY START ALL 

      GAMES AT 7pm.

d.   CAPTAINS WILL PROVIDE FOUR NAMES AT THE START OF THE MATCH AND PLAYERS MUST BE 

      AVAILABLE WHEN THEIR NAMES ARE CALLED.

e.   ON COMPLETION OF A MATCH THE HOME CAPTAIN OR SECRETARY SHALL FORWARD TO THE 

      LEAGUE SECRETARY THE MATCH RESULT CARD BY SATURDAY FOLLOWING THE MATCH.

f.    TEAMS NOT COMPLYING WITH THIS REQUEST WILL BE FINDED £3 AND HAVE POINTS DEDUCTED.

g.   THE HOME TEAM WILL HAVE THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE GREEN UP TO 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE 

       START OF THE MATCH, THE FINAL 15 MINUTES WILL BE FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE AWAY TEAM.  

      THE AWAY CAPTAIN MAY PRACTICE BEFORE THE LAST 15 MINUTES.

h.   ALL TEAMS WILL APPEAR ON THE DATE OF THE FIXTURE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE WEATHER

      CONDITIONS. THE EXCEPTION WILL BE IF THE HOME CLUB HAS INFORMED THE VISITING TEAM  

      THAT THE GREEN IS UNFIT FOR PLAY

      THE GREENSMAN OR HOME CAPTAIN WILL DECIDE IF THE GREEN IS FIT TO PLAY  OR NOT.

i.    THE LEAGUE TABLE POINTS WILL BE ACCRUED FROM,

                2 POINTS FOR A HOME WIN

                3 POINTS FOR AN AWAY WIN

                1 POINT FOR A HOME DRAW

                2 POINTS FOR AN AWAY DRAW

                1 POINT FOR EACH WINNING PLAYER

                THE AGGREGATE SCORE WILL DETERMINE THE RESULT.

j.    STANDARD JACKS WILL BE USED IN ALL GAMES AND WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE HOME TEAM.     

      JACKS WILL BE TESTED EVERY 7 YEARS.

k.   THERE WILL BE TWO MARKERS FOR EACH GAME AND THE CARDS CHECKED EVERY FIVE ENDS.

l.    A MATCH POSTPONED BY AGREEMENT MUST BE REPORTED TO THE LEAGUE SECRETARY 14 DAYS 

      BEFORE THE FIXTURE DATE AND THEN PLAYED WITHIN 21 DAYS OF THAT FIXTURE.

m. IF ON THE NIGHT A MATCH HAS TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER, THEN THE TWO 

     CAPTAINS SHALL REARRANGE THE FIXTURE AT THAT TIME AND THE HOME CAPTAIN WILL   

     NOTIFY THE LEAGUE SECRETARY OF THE ARRANGEMENTS. MATCHES CANNOT BE PLAYED  

     WHEN THE LEAGUE PROGRAMME HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

n.   SHOULD ANY TEAMS AT THE END OF THE SEASON FINISH WITH EQUAL POINTS AND EQUAL 

      AGGREGATE, THE COMMITTEE WILL DECIDE ON THE METHOD TO RESOLVE THE PLACINGS.

5.             LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

a.   FEES FOR COMPETITIONS WILL BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE ENTRIES TO THE COMPETITION ARE 

      ACCEPTED.

b.   GREENS CHOSEN FOR THESE COMPETITIONS WILL PROVIDE A PERSON TO ISSUE  STANDARD         

      JACKS, MATS, LONG MEASURING TAPES, AND TO CHECK ALL ARE RETURNED ON COMPLETION  

      OF THE EVENT.

c.   A TEAM THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE ADVERTISER CUP WILL NOT BE 

      ALLOWED IN THE COMPETITION THE FOLLOWING YEAR.

d.   STARTING TIME WILL ALSO BE SCRATCH TIME, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

e.   BRITISH CROWN GREEN RULES WILL APPLY IN ALL INSTANCES, ANY DISPUTES OR PROTESTS 

      WILL BE REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE THROUGH THE LEAGUE SECRETARY.

f.   THE COMMITTEE WILL DECIDE ON ANY ITEM NOT PROVIDED FOR IN THE  RULES.

6.             GENERAL

     TEAMS NOT INTENDING TO REGISTER FOR A NEW SEASON WILL ADVISE THE LEAGUE 

      SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. 

      ALTERATIONS OR ADDITIONS TO THE RULES HAVE TO BE IN WRITING TO THE SECRETARY 28 

      DAYS BEFORE THE A.G.M., STATING IN FULL THE PROPOSED ALTERATION OR ADDITION.  

      VOTING ON PROPOSALS WILL BE ONE VOTE PER TEAM

      PROPOSALS FROM THE COMMITTEE WILL BE SENT TO TEAM REPRESENTATIVES PRIOR TO THE 

      A.G.M.
